Friends of the Highgate Roman Kiln (FOHRK) collects some personal data about our website users, donors, volunteers and partners. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, what we do with it, and why we use it.

Legitimate interest statement
'FOHRK aims to bring the most complete Roman pottery kiln found in Greater London back from storage under Bruce Castle Museum for display in an Information Centre in Highgate Wood where it was excavated. We will build an exciting education programme around the kiln's return.'
In furtherance of these objectives, we process your personal data because we feel it is of legitimate interest to be able to stay in touch with you so that:
- donors and prospective donors can support our charity and its programme
- supporters and other interested parties can stay informed about how we can work together
- volunteers can get involved with upcoming events and projects

Donations
When you make a donation via our GoFund Me channel, the site will record your data within the terms of its own privacy policy www.gofundme.com/privacy
Contact email Data
If you contact us via the Highgate Roman Kiln website with an enquiry, we will store your name and email address in our email software (which is a Virgin Media email). We may also store details of the kinds of event you have shown an interest in to enable us to personalise the information we send to you.
We may use these details to send you regular email newsletters about FOHRK activities and upcoming events. You can unsubscribe of this at any time by emailing us stating ‘unsubscribe’. The email address is Fohrkinfo@virginmedia.com
We also gather statistics around email opening and click rates using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our marketing.
We do not purchase databases for any donor or prospective supporter information.
If you do not open an email, click on a link or update your details for 6 years, we will remove your data.
Lectures, Talks and Other Events, including Zoom, Teams:
Attendance Data We ask attendees to provide a name, email address and phone number. We maintain records of those attending meetings.
Online events
FOHRK Zoom or other online meetings will normally be recorded. Speakers’ contributions will be uploaded to the website, but recordings of discussions, Q &A sessions and other interactive sessions involving participants will not be uploaded without the permission of those involved. Any written notes of such events will not identify participants by name.
Work with children and young people
All the learning we support with children and young people is organised by schools or other institutions/organisations that implement their own policies on privacy and safeguarding.
Third Parties
GoFundMe acts as a data processor on behalf of FOHRK and have all implemented appropriate technological measures to protect against accidental loss, destruction, damage, alteration or disclosure of your data.
Our aim is to provide timely and accurate information to you in connection with your donations to us or to inform you of opportunities in which you may be interested.
